Guardians' Ramirez has ban reduced to 2 games for fighting Tim Anderson

Third baseman Jose Ramirez‘s three-game suspension was reduced to two contests for his part in last Saturday’s brawl between the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox, according to Mandy Bell of

Ramirez will serve his ban this weekend against the Tampa Bay Rays after appealing his punishment following the incident.

Major League Baseball handed White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson a six-game suspension and a fine for exchanging punches with Ramirez. Anderson also submitted an appeal to the league.

Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase, manager Terry Francona, and third base coach Mike Sarbaugh each earned one-game bans, as did White Sox skipper Pedro Grifol. Everybody involved outside of Ramirez and Anderson have already served their suspensions.
