Phillies set up NLDS rematch with Braves after sweeping Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies are moving on to the NLDS after defeating the Miami Marlins 7-1 to sweep their two-game wild-card series.

The win sets up a rematch with the Atlanta Braves in the division series. Philadelphia took down the favored Braves in four games in last season’s NLDS.

Bryson Stott broke the game open with a grand slam off Marlins left-hander Andrew Nardi in the bottom of the sixth inning.

“I don’t really have memory of the swing,” Stott said. “I know I yelled at the dugout. Couldn’t really hear myself. Any time we get to play here, you know it’s going to be loud from the very first pitch.”

Stott joined Shane Victorino as only the second player in franchise history with a postseason grand slam.

Aaron Nola was excellent for the Phillies, holding the Marlins scoreless over seven innings, allowing just three hits to earn the win.
