Rangers activate Max Scherzer for ALCS: What starter means for Texas’ chances vs. Houston

Max is back.
The Rangers officially placed starter Max Scherzer on their roster for the American League Championship Series versus the Houston Astros on Sunday morning. Right-hander Jon Gray also joins Scherzer in a return from injury, giving the Rangers a palpable pitching boost before a high-stakes series against their biggest rival.
