Webb says Giants need winning culture: 'I'm tired of losing'

San Francisco Giants right-hander Logan Webb offered his best Aaron Judge impression while discussing the team’s season following Monday’s 2-1 victory over the San Diego Padres.

“I’m tired. I’m tired of losing. It’s not fun,” Webb told reporters, according to NBCS Giants.

“We’ve got to make some big changes in here to create that winning culture. We want to show up every single year and try to win the whole thing. I mean, I think we’re there. I don’t know what it is. I’m just sick of losing, to be honest. It’s never fun.”

Webb’s comments come with the Giants 4.5 games out of the NL’s final wild-card spot with five games remaining on the schedule. Judge similarly mentioned changes needing to be made in New York on Sunday after the Yankees missed the postseason for the first time since 2016.

The Giants ace pointed his finger at the team’s inconsistent mindset as a reason they’re likely to fall short of the postseason for the second year in a row. They won 107 games in 2021.

“We’ve got to come in here with the same winning mentality every single day,” Webb said, according to The Athletic’s Andrew Baggarly.

“Not saying we don’t have that. Just saying we need to throw a little extra onto that. I know (right-hander Alex) Cobb hasn’t been to the playoffs in a long time and I feel terrible for a guy like that. He pitches his ass off this year, he’s an All-Star, and he should be pitching in the playoffs. I want to help make that happen for him. It’s just tough.”
