Yankees’ Brian Cashman responds to angry fans, questions of job security

NEW YORK — Brian Cashman was well aware. The New York Yankees general manager didn’t say whether he’s heard the faint but occasional chants of “Fire Cashman” that have popped up at Yankee Stadium as their losing streak hit a historic nine games. He didn’t say he’s heard the questions of whether, after 25 seasons in his post, he should still be the one to lead the front office as his club sits in last place in the American League East with their playoff hopes all but squandered.
But Cashman knows many fans aren’t happy with him.
