The New York Yankees released third baseman Josh Donaldson, the team announced Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know:
Donaldson was placed on the 60-day injured list with a right calf issue on July 20, meaning he is eligible to come off the IL in mid-September. Manager Aaron Boone said this past weekend that Donaldson was working toward a rehab assignment.
